Wow what a match. Some high quality tennis, impressed with Gulbis but Nadal came out the winner. I have really missed his hate to lose attitude. I’m picking him to get the win over Federer tomorrow judging by Roger’s pretty unconvincing win against Stan who choked. Again.

Awesome match! Gulbis was dictating the play but Nadal the champion he is, came through in the end! Thanks for blogging JJ,

    Thanks JJ.

I had to go to court in the morning so I had to go to bed. I enjoyed the analysis and your humor.
    Keep it up!

    And thanks for staying up.

Oi, it’s tough on the old heart being a Rafa fan! He sure puts us through the wringer but wow, the joy when he does his Rafa thing and just refuses to be beaten. Hope his knee came through that match ok cause he’s got another big one tomorrow. Vamos Rafa!!!

This is by far the best way to check up on a match youve missed. Great writing, keep it up!

This site is great, and already one of my top ones. The writing is intelligent and passionate and objective which is a rarity in tennis journalism. Thank you so much for founding this site, may it live long and prosper.

Fantastic article and agree with your personal sentiment that Rafa is the best player I have ever had the pleasure to watch!

This is a great website and this write up, JJ was soooooo wonderful!! I have been a Rafafanatic for about 8 years. I just love this kid (okay, man now) and his tennis and his attitude, so naturally I was very happy about this match, your analysis and your comments. I live overseas so catching Rafa matches can be difficult and at odd hours and watching him live about gives me a heart attack!! I end up hiding under furniture or having to go out for a walk! A site like this helps me catch up and understand what is going on so much better. As you said, to see Rafa come back after almost one year off hard courts and over 7 months off any court and no match play, had me just “Vamosing” all over the front room!!
When will this useless “coaching” rule be thrown out. Who understands Catalan or Latvian or Serbian, etc?? It is impossible to enforce fairly and uniformly and consistantly.
Great write up and coverage!!! Please keep it up!
