Remember Yulia Putintseva? She’s the 5’4″ 18-year-old Kazakh (by way of Russia) who is probably best known right now for working with Martina Hingis and for her, um, elaborate celebrations.
Well, she’s making news again, and not just for her tennis. Ranked No. 105, she qualified for the Brussels Open today by taking out 21-year-old American CoCo Vandeweghe 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. CoCo was not impressed.
I have never played a person with worst sportsmanship… Putintseva…

…How can anyone comment on my game style after you have already won the match in such a negative way is unbelievable!…
— CoCo Vandeweghe (@CoCoVandey) May 20, 2013
Her exact words were "You are a terrible player only serve. I win all the rallies" that comment is totally uncalled for…

…and on top of it your father clapping while you say this haha, unreal! #venting

I’m trying to be outraged, but I’m just too busy getting excited for the future of the WTA.
(I’ll keep this post updated with any future updates.)
Edit 1: OMG PLEASE LET THIS HAPPPEN.
Coco qualified in Brussels as LL. Just want her to face Putintseva again. lol

Edit 2: So that didn’t happen, unfortunately. Putintseva and Vandeweghe (a LL in place of Halep) have been placed on opposite sides of the draw.
BUT, Yulia has responded in epic fashion.
Linz,
Would like to know who w/d where they may be another first round match.
