Speaking of Memphis, the tournament will be moving to Rio where it will be an ATP 500 event with the WTA being International. Rio will be played on clay while Acapulco will change to hardcourt as the ATP wanted to keep the Latin American swing fully intact. Clay swing will be Viña Del Mar, Buenos Aires, Rio and São Paulo for the ATP.

    Linz,
Agree about Wozniacki looking fit and her game coming back after she admitted that she lost motivation after getting to the top spot. Also, I think Isner is missing Boynton more than he imagined along with some injuries.

    Amy,
I wanted to pick Anderson to win Delray Beach but I will not as my next post will illustrate.

    All,
Be nice to Gasquet and Cilic in their conquest to win anything more than 250 as Nishikori won Tokyo and Memphis in the last few months.

Thanks for the calendar clarifications, Master Ace! One question, though: will Rio take place on the same week as Memphis, or move to the Acapulco week? I ask because right now, the Latin American swing takes four straight weeks. If Acapulco moves to hard and Rio keeps the Memphis slot, that would mean that two ATP clay events would take place on the same week (Rio and Buenos Aires), with one of them being a 500 and the other a 250. And the clay swing would be shortened by one week, for no real gain. I hope they move Rio to the Acapulco week so that those who want to play on clay stay in South America and those who want to move to hard early go to Acapulco.

Also – I have no plans to stop mentioning Cilic and Gasquet as the top 15 guys who haven’t won more than 250s! Of course, if they won one, that would change. Not holding my breath, though.

Querrey! Master Ace has fallen under Linz’ spell! He at least got off to a good start.

Carla Suárez Navarro is an intriguing pick. I thought about her chances – her draw is quite nice. But I’m not sure I can trust her to go all the way just yet.

I picked Suarez Navarro because her draw is good and Errani will be tired for playing every week of 2013. But, Schiavone looms in that bottom half.

Not much of a commenter, but I just want to say I love this podcast, especially the girls!! Y’all do a great job of summarizing and explaining the parts I missed and also analyzing and adding quality depth to the parts I did! Is there a way I can rate y’all without actually having itunes? I hope so, y’all deserve the five stars for sure. S’pose I can maybe figure that out myself via Google, which I shall endeavor to do.

I’d make picks, cause that seems like the thing to do, but I don’t know much about non top twenty players on either tour, so it would just be safe pick after safe pick and that’s no fun. I will say that, well, one of my roommates watches golf (idk how…) and I’ve heard some mention from his television of whether Caro is ruining Rory somehow and for some reason that makes me root for her, even though back when she was number one, I found her just ok. So, I hope she gets herself the title in Malaysia (and maybe in the process saves the Prime Minister).

I have a guess of who is going to be Linz loser of the week when Podcast 8 is recorded.

Hint: You have to listen to this podcast (7) to get an idea of what I may be talking about.

My loser of the week for Podcast 9 is Wozniacki as she lost her first match after leading by a set and a break and she had one match point in set 2.
