Flavia Pennetta and Kristina Mladenovic teamed up again for doubles here in Indian Wells, and what sounded like a charming team with a lot of potential (Flav has won a major and been No. 1 in dubs, Kiki has won two Slams in mixed) ended up being, well, a bit of a disaster.
They lost in the second round on Sunday to Kimiko Date-Krumm and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 7-6, 2-6, 5-10, but the scoreline certainly doesn’t tell the story. Luckily, tweeters were on hand to document the mess. I’ll just let the fabulous Frame Yourself take it from here:
