So, Thomaz Bellucci and Benoit Paire teamed up for doubles at the Australian Open, and it is exactly as wonderful and absurd as it sounds.
The duo is into the quarterfinals, where they will face Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez later today. In the third round they upset No. 6 seed Qureshi and Rojer 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(5). Here is how they did it:
After losing the first set, Paire came out in the second set ready for business with one sleeve rolled up.
When Rojer double-faulted during a crucial game early in the second set, Paire thanked him and blew him a kiss.
Then, with a chance to break, Paire hit a phenomenal lob to convert. The boys were pumped.
They played a crazy long game late in the third set. Sometimes they made errors and fell to the ground.
And sometimes Bella ate his racket.
But mostly they just laughed and smiled.
And Benoit encouraged his struggling partner.
When they finally got to match point they pumped up the crowd.
And then they won thanks to a let cord! They celebrated, apologized, and then celebrated again.
Finally, Benoit put his towel on like a scarf.
Rojer and Qureshi didn’t know what hit them! Long live Bellucci and Paire…shall we call them Bellaire?
Awesome! They’re the cutest.

Really nice!!
My english is really poor, but I’ve liked this double very much and I’d like to see them playng more times. Normally, Bellucci is very shy.I enjoyed seeing the Paire encouraging Bellucci the whole time.
My favorite match of the Aussie Open. Especially the moment when Paire fell down in despair after Bella missed yet another return.
