Hobart International Throws Knives at Sloane Stephens. Literally.

Alright, you guys, I think we’ve taken tournament promotional videos TOO FAR.

Here’s something Sloane Stephens said about the Hobart tournament before it began: “I like it here. It’s small, it’s quiet, it’s easy-going ahead of the Australian Open – it’s not too crazy or too hectic.”

Then, they forced her to do this:

“Well, yesterday I went to the circus here and let the guy throw knives at me,” Stephens said, via the WTA.”But they didn’t hit me of course. My mom wasn’t too happy, but I’m still alive, so that’s good!”

Yes, indeed. It’s good that you’re alive, Sloane.

What’s next? Making Serena walk over hot coals? Sawing Federer in half? Trapping Rafa in a room filled with dogs? This is not a trend I can endorse.

I like how he thought he had to tell her it’s important to stay very still. #contenderforundertatementoftheyearaward
