Weird match, Don’t see Paire being too much trouble for Fed seeing as he dealt with him relatively easy in Australia. Another Fedal final looks to be on the horizon, and I pick Roger to finally get his first Rome title.

Yes really? Federer’s form as been the best of last remaining four left in the tournament. Roger’s playing well, all he has to take care off is his mentality which lacks against Nadal and Berdych. He’s playing the tennis needed to win this event so I don’t see how you can be surprised that the world number three could win this? What ever happens, this clay season has been quite, how to say, disappointing? Other than Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome has lacked something. Don’t know what’s happened to Djokovic and I’ve gotten tired of Nadal in the clay season for a few years now. So I think Roger winning Rome for the first time, right after Madrid where people once again talked retirement could actually give him the confidence needed to do something in Paris.

Rule number 1: Never count Roger Federer out.

Your final thoughts are so spot on. I really liked the way Janowicz handled himself 90% of the match, and it was indeed at crucial moments that the difference in experience made the difference. I also very much liked their handshake at the net – it seemed to me that Janowicz took a lot of positive lessons out of this match. Go Jerzy train!
