Occasionally, a day must be singled out for extraordinary events in the tennis world. This is one of those days, for two reasons.
1. Roger Federer’s official Facebook feed shared a picture of the 17-time Slam champion practicing on clay. IN A SWEATER VEST.
Aside from the obvious epic nature of this practice attire, can you think of a single other professional tennis player who could pull off practicing in a sweater vest? No, you can’t.
2. Fernando Verdasco made amazingly awkward jokes about wearing a heart monitor during one of his matches.
Verdasco when asked if he was wearing an HR monitor: “No, it was my bra. I did too many chest press, and I have too much boobs now…”

The real reason for Verdasco’s HR monitor: “It’s information for myself to see how the match was. Sometimes I play with it, sometimes not.”

@juanjo_sports He wears it bc “It’s information for myself to see how the match was.” His initial response? “It is my bra.” A tad awkward.

@linzsports Said it without cracking a smile. Went on to say he needs something to hold up his t***. Lots of nervous laughter ensued.

Never forget.
Guess Roger didn’t have any staff around to clean the lines for him. It usually helps in a practice to be able to see whether you’re hitting the ball inside the court. He could take some lessons from Rafa who quite happily rakes the court himself.
