People have different opinions on Federer, but one thing everyone can usually agree on is that he’s a pretty snazzy dresser.
That is, until tonight, when he unveiled his 2013 U.S. Open night kit. Without further ado:

What do you think the worst part is? The shorts? The horribly out-of-place black socks and shoes?
Even the bright pink little details in Federer’s shirt are comically out of place: pic.twitter.com/bGWHHijUuv

Or that.
Anyways, fashion critics on Twitter had a field day:
OK, now the jacket is off, I can see that that is the most hideous night kit Federer has ever worn. Literally no redeeming feature.

Over the years, some of Fed’s kit and accessory choices – such as the Wimbledon, um, extravaganzas – could be defended as fun. But this….

Maybe twins picked it out. @bradhunter: Fashion misstep Roger. Those blue shorts with dark top and shoes? Can’t believe Anna approved that.
— Megan Fernandez (@MeganFernandez7) September 1, 2013
Well, that’s definitely not it. RT @Ratazana: Perhaps none of us are fashion forward enough?
— Amy Fetherolf (@AmyFetherolf) September 1, 2013
Maybe roger thought he grabbed the dark gray shorts but accidentally grabbed the day-glo blue practice shorts.
— Brad Hunter (@bradhunter) September 1, 2013
This fashion misstep is harder to watch than Fed’s summer tennis.

I didn’t know Stella was designing men’s kits now.

Dear Nike: Exactly which part of the tennis market are you aiming at with this gawdforsaken kit? Nursing home inmates?
— Melissa Φιλοραφαία (@athena1949) September 1, 2013
Or during the match. RT @ChiaraGamTWI: Can please someone can ask to Federer after the match to change this shorts?

Finally the Internet agrees about SOMETHING. #federer

Has @PseudoFed fired Nike yet? #usopen

Later, Gilbert took Federer aside and explained to him what Winning Ugly was really about.

Anyways, at Time of Publication, Federer is up 6-2, 2-0 over Adrian Mannarino. That’s good news for Federer and his fans, but bad news for everyone who will likely have to see this night kit again.
If wearing that outfit directly leads to more 6-0 sets won by Federer (presuming he serves this out now), I am actually OK with the idea.
Nina Garcia would sweep the floor with that kit. …and I’m sure you meant without further ado
