If you’re anything like me (hopefully not, for your sake), the tennis offseason gives you ample time to watch random tennis videos on YouTube. Here are some tennis videos that might help you get through the doldrums of the offseason:
You probably remember the viral video compilation of Petra Kvitova’s 222 winners from 2011 Wimbledon:
Watching hundreds of winners hit one after another can be hypnotic. I could probably watch these all day. Did you know there was one for Sam Stosur’s 180 winners at the 2011 US Open?
And one for Victoria Azarenka’s 132 winners at the 2012 Australian Open?
And one for Serena Williams’ 248 winners on her way to winning 2012 Wimbledon?
But the earliest compilation in this form I could find was a vintage video of Roger Federer’s 41 winners hit against Andre Agassi in the final of the 2003 Masters Cup:
Somehow I ended up watching videos of tennis players from when they were younger. Here’s a video of Juan Martin del Potro and Marin Cilic playing each other in the 2002 14s Junior Orange Bowl:
Kim Clijsters at the age of 9. Even if I hadn’t told you it was her, you could probably instantly tell:
Rafael Nadal, age 12:
Novak Djokovic (not sure about the age). This video made me laugh a few times:
Andy Murray, age 12, training with his mom, Judy:
This is a hilarious video from the 2009 World Tour Finals round robin match between Federer and Murray (the subtitles are satirical):
A sentimental favorite: Goran Ivanisevic is perturbed by a chair umpire’s terrible pronunciation of his last name:
Speaking of YouTube, Federer will have all 6 matches in South America streamed on Federer YouTube
