This Week at The Changeover
The big event this week was the Davis Cup final between Spain and the Czech Republic. Before the tie started, Juan José inaugurated his “Changeover Music – Best Songs of 2012 series”, and Lindsay introduced us to three lucky Novak Djokovic fans in the first “Fan Fare” entry. The team had their weekly Changeover Chat to make selections for Individual ATP Awards for the season.
Lindsay also wrote about what she feels as a fan when she hears about all the rumors regarding doping and tennis.
Davis Cup Final
To get us in the mood for the clash between Spain and the Czechs, Amy showed us a side of Tomas Berdych we don’t normally see – but his Facebook fans do, and Juan José tried his best to understand Nicolás Almagro through his use of Twitter.
Day 1
As the first day of the Davis Cup final approached, the team made their picks. Amy wrote about the Ferrer-Stepanek beatdown, and Juan José live-blogged the epic five-setter between Almagro and Berdych.
Day 2
The team made their picks for the doubles rubber, and Linz wrote about the crucial win by the Stepanek-Berdych team.
Day 3
As the pivotal third day loomed, the team once again tried to predict the results. Amy live-blogged Ferrer’s trashing of Berdych and Juan José did the same for the nervy decider between Stepanek and Almagro.
To cap off an emotional win for the Czech team, who enjoyed their first title since 1980, Amy compiled animated GIFs of their celebrations.
